1) The mood of the images are serious as well as their expressions. Their posture is just still.
2) I imagine these photos were created by paint and maybe Photoshop.
3) The role color that plays in the images is bold, I think it does accentuate the mood because it is serious.
4) I think the artist intended to convey with these images with emotion. Their response that they are trying to evoke is showing what emotion feels like. I do think the effort was successful.
